Clinically diagnostic laboratories
The laboratory and diagnostic department is an independent subdivision of the State Institution “NPMCDKK MOH of Ukraine”. The technical equipment is represented by the equipment of the latest generation of the world’s leading manufacturers. The list of studies is not limited to standard laboratory tests and is regularly updated with more modern and informative.
One of the necessary and most informative stages of the patient’s examination is the stage of laboratory studies that allow to detect pathological changes at the cellular, molecular and genetic levels. Such subtle abnormalities can often be detected before the symptoms that cause anxiety in the patient, and his referral to a doctor (for example, increased glucose concentration in case of a threat of diabetes or increased cholesterol leading to atherosclerosis).
The more complex the research, the more accurate the diagnosis of the disease and the shorter the term of its cure. This causes the need for regular checks of the basic laboratory parameters even when the signs of the disease are not visible.
Our laboratory is one of the most wide-profile and can offer virtually any survey. The department is equipped with modern analytical equipment: the biochemical analyzer Flexor / Selectra XL; the immunochemiluminescent apparatus Elecsys (Roche); the hemoanalyzer SwelabAlfa (Sweden), Pentra 60 C + (France), AVH Micros 60; microscopes CarlZeiss (Germany), gas analyzer and electrolytes EasyStat (Medica, USA), Radiometer ABL800, CHRONO-LOG 700 agronometer, ACT Plus automatic coagulation timer, coagulometer – ThrombolyzerCompact XR, ACL 7000 InstrumentationLaboratory; a device for measurement of PT / INR INRatio®2, an Express Analyzer Cardiacreader (Roche), a Biosens C-line glucose analyzer, a blood hemolysis analyzer HEMO CONTROL, a hemoglobin low-level analyzer HemoCue, a drug monitoring CDx90, a Cellogel electrophoresis system microbiological analyzer VITEK 2 Compact 15, BacT / ALERT® 3D.
Many types of research can be carried out in urgent mode (CITO!) For several hours.
A laboratory is an analysis. Any diagnosis invariably begins with laboratory tests. We are already accustomed to begin any examination with the surrender of blood. These figures in the results table of the analysis can tell a lot about your health. Often the figures warn of the disease in advance, when there are no external symptoms yet.
The laboratory conducts research in the following areas: clinical biochemical analyzes, hormonal, immunological, bacteriological.
Clinical studies (blood test, urinalysis)
A general clinical blood test is the most common analysis. It is prescribed for preventive examinations, as well as for most diseases, which allows to estimate the hemoglobin content, the number of red blood cells, the number of leukocytes, platelets, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and other important parameters. The clinical analysis of blood allows you to consider the leukogram and the rate of erythrocyte sedimentation (ESR). With the help of a general blood test, you can identify: viral and bacterial diseases, the presence of inflammatory or malignant processes, pathologies, various disorders in the blood, possible helminthiases and allergies, general health of a person.
With the help of this analysis, it is possible to detect anemia (reduction of hemoglobin – leukocyte formula), inflammatory processes (leukocytes, leukocyte formula), etc. Currently, most indicators are performed on automatic hematological analyzers that can simultaneously determine from 5 to 24 parameters. The main ones are the number of leukocytes, the concentration of hemoglobin, the hematocrit, the number of erythrocytes, the average volume of erythrocyte, the mean concentration of hemoglobin in the erythrocyte, the mean hemoglobin in the erythrocyte, the half-width of the distribution of erythrocytes in size, the number of platelets, the average volume of the platelet. As a rule, automatic hematological analyzers they also build histograms for erythrocytes, platelets and leukocytes. These indicators can tell a lot about the condition of the body and help diagnose early pathology.
The general analysis of urine is a simple method of investigation that allows you to evaluate the function of the kidneys and other internal organs, as well as to detect inflammation in the urinary tract.
Biochemical analysis includes studies of protein, fat, carbohydrate metabolism; activity of various enzymes; evaluation of blood coagulability. According to these analyzes, the doctor can tell a lot about the condition of the internal organs: the heart, liver, pancreas, digestive tract.
On the microflora of the intestine will say bacteriological studies.
Hormonal studies provide an opportunity to assess the status and function of endocrine glands.
We also conduct immunological studies – they allow you to assess the immunity, the level of protection of the body from infections. Sometimes the presence of antibodies in the blood is a sign of a hidden or obvious disease.
In the laboratory and diagnostic department there are highly qualified biologists, biochemists, cytologists.
The department has implemented a quality management system that ensures the control of the accuracy of studies both at the level of the entire system and the individual result of the patient.
Compliance of the quality management system with laboratory processes to international requirements: ISO 9001: 2008 “Quality management systems. Requirements “and ISO 15189: 2012” Medical laboratories “;
Regular confirmation of the accuracy of the studies – participation in international quality control programs EQAS (USA), RIQAS (Great Britain); quality control in the European scheme for confirming the quality of cytogenetic studies (CEQA EQA Enrolment 2014, Oxford, UK) in two test categories; Ukrainian programs of interlaboratory comparisons of research results (Ukrainian Reference Center for Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics and Metrology).
